Totally Wild team were present at our March launch and the first episode goes to air on the 4th of August 2010, 8am on CH 10. To our interstate friends, please check your local guide as I believe it will be shown nationally. 8)

Second instalment of the story should be shown on the 17th of August 2010 also at 8am.

It will be interesting to see what they put together as they did talk to many people. They had good time doing it all even though weather wasn't the best at the time.

Hey

I think from what Ari has already posted, the Channel 10 "Totally Wild" episode, that was shot at the QRS launch way back in March of this year will finally be going to air a go to air with the first to two parts commencing tomorrow (Wednesday 4th August 2010) morning at 8-00am.

I hope someone can catch a copy, so that we can post if up to the forum for all to see.

My TV Tuner is plugged in and ready to record.

They have this on their website about it:

I am sure that Cart is at least one of the "rocket mad enthusiasts"...

It is recorded, I need to head off to work now, but I will cut it and upload it tonight when I get home (unless someone else has the spare time to do it first).

I must say, that was a great segment for advancing the hobby within Australia. If only we could see more of this type of advancement across Australia!

I would like to know did anyone in other states catch it at all ? The fact is that someone new in other states also might have seen the segment and thought, "I wonder if there are any rocket clubs near me ?" This how other clubs can benefit from this. :D

NOTE : The next segment will be shown on the 11th of August ( Show day in Brisbane) NOT on the 17th as previously informed by at 8am !!!! Channel 10 contacted me yesterday pm about the re scheduling.

Len and Leigh, we need a permission from CH10 before we can include this episode to the web site as we did last time. Once the next episode is aired, I'll ask for it and they will give us a link directly to the segments. This is how the last one works also.

I must say that Rob and Austin make a great representation of rocketry and Cart is good sport, things do happen while we launch rockets. Talk about positive thinking Cart, "It can be re built".....not !!!

Hopefully if people saw it, they could make out the banner and will find themselves at the best rocketry forum in the country and for that matter the southern hemisphere! :-)

Will have to put some updates on the websites to show what great things are happening. Might draw some fantastic attention towards the Australian Youth Rocketry Challenge too.

Hi Ari,

Considering the weather, it was a great segment with many good QRS flights. Top interview with Cart and youv'e got to love his optimism regard the re-build !

Rocketry is a very different hobby with so many aspects to pursue, it has been fun starting and growing into the hobby. The positive atmosphere at QRS encourages and caters for flyers of all skill levels and facets of the hobby they choose to explore.

Austin came home from school, watched the segment about ten times and was quite chuffed - he still has the highest flying rocket in our Family although 'Dad has a plan' :D We are going to arrange a DVD for his classmates to watch it at school.

My family in Perth caught it as well so we have a wide reach across the country.

Andy Thomas addressed QUT yesterday whilst his Wife circles the Earth in the ISS - pretty cool when you think about it "where's your wife Andy ? - he'd simply lookup, wait about 90 minutes and point....." I truly hope, one day soon, Australia has a more active space program and just maybe one of our kids launching a C6 today will be launching a much larger space vehicle with an Aussie flag on it tomorrow.

Regards,

Hey guys,
I was just away working at "Splendor in the grass" at woodford for the last 3 weeks.
I haven't seen a computer in that time!!

But I've been up to my neck in dozens of odd jobs, electrical repair, fencing, site management, traffic control even stage production and playing on stage.
Much to my delight one of my bosses asked me if there was anything I could not do.

My reply was "I am a rocket scientist... give me something hard !!". This started lots of good natured ribbing.

Casey my boss from splendor arrived home to Sydney to her loving family just in time to sit down with her kids to watch Totally Wild.
I'm now the happy owner of a case of Rum and cola as way of an apology!
The first I knew of the program was calls from Casey and others from Woodford " Hey your on TV with your rocket"

Now I just have to convince them I'm not going to take over the world!!!... maybe........

I hope people learn that we have a great hobby and sometimes it can go wrong, but we take precautions to make it as safe as possible.

Cart

Cracking segment guys, I'm guessing that you'll have a hell of a crowd at your next public launch!
