Also i think the tres should either have two parachutes or a large one cause i founld out when i all most finished the kit it was heavy for the size of the chute si i added another one so that it lands safely .

better be safe than SORRY :!:

A bigger chute will give a softer landing, but excessive drift.
You can estimate the size of the chute from this:

I put a bigger chute in my Executioner once, of cause it didn't get ejected all the way out and it took a core sample... bigger chute in this case didn't equal softer landing..

Keep in mind that once the Tres has burned all the fuel from the three engines it is considerably lighter.... The standard parachute that comes with the kit IS large enough.

I usually prefer hard landings rather than my rockets floating away forever anyway.... Although Kryten will argue that my small parachutes don't achieve much in recent times.

Hi Bones,
It has been a Long Time but just getting into this kit.
I did find a quirky problem with the directions in regard to the positioning of the Plywood Disc and fixing it to the Booster Section but I couldn't work out the deployment of the Parachute as per diagram which said that the Anchor cord is attached to inside of the Booster Section etc. :?
I did look up how it was done for the LOC kits without the Piston Ejection etc and placed ( Glued with JB weld epoxy) the Plywood Disc & attachments 3" inside the Coupler Section and put that half way in the Payload Section and Sealed the Nose Cone in the top..the rest is as per instruction sheet. :D
Parachute Deployment with Kevlar Shield -Priceless

Thanks

I haven't seen the destructions for the Binder aspire, but if its anything like most of his kits, it would be a through the top centering ring and glued/epoxied to the MMT.

ether tied around the MMT and glued, or just glued along the MMT.
