Hello Mr F.

Welcome to the forum.

I believe we have a growing number of forum members, whom are engaged in the education of young minds.

We trust that your time with us here will be both personally fulfilling and professionally engaging.

Our own club (QRS) has an active schools program, of which I am told, is as equally rewarding to both participant and presenter.

What age of students are you working with ?

I know that there are several groups here also working with inquiring mind that range from middle primary right up to 4th year engineering students.

I'm sure they would be happy to share both their experiences and resources.

Many of us here would also be keen to hear further about your own school based rocketry program and how it fits within your curriculum.

If there is any further detailed information, that you require, then please feel free to contact us directly.

Tarp

Welcome to the forum Flinty. :)

You'll find heaps of info here and really top people to help you if there is any need.

As Tarpazium already mentioned we are very active in the school displays and talks with over 20 schools visited and many more to come including Scouts.

It's truly wonderful to share about this awesome hobby with kids and young adults. :D

This year we are running here in QLD "Australian Youth Rocketry Challenge" which has attracted 12 teams and it will be held on the 28th of August at our launch site. We believe this will create much more interest and next year will be bigger and better again. 8)

cheers guys

yeah we're "out in the sticks" in a sparsely populated rural area... that photo of 500 kids checking out your demo is amazing.

our club is tiny we've got maybe 10-15 kids that launch LPR from the age of 11 up. Actually, the club kind of started after watching the movie october sky (hehe) as some kids wanted to get into EX and, with a little research, it didn't take long to learn that EX is out of the question in Oz. So I started a club to keep them out of trouble.

I sneak a little bit of rocketry in curriculum but the club was deliberately extra-curricular to allow interaction across year levels and to avoid any perception that rocketry=school work.

cheers tarp i'll check those links later any info is a help
cheers OS yeah that comp looks interesting I'm looking forward to the results
